JESSICA MAFFIA
Jessica Maffia is a multidisciplinary artist born and raised in New York City. In reverence and mourning, she honors the natural world of the city and its surroundings through repetitive, meditative processes. Her work has been exhibited throughout the US and is currently in the Flat Files of Pierogi Gallery. Maffia is the recipient of numerous artist residency fellowships including at the Albee Foundation and the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation, as well as two grants from the Hells Kitchen Foundation. She created a permanent mural installation for the National Audubon Society’s Audubon Mural Project, she is currently in the design phase of a NYC Percent for Art permanent installation in a new public school, and her video-sculpture installation is on long-term exhibition at SUNY Purchase College. She looks forward to participating in an NEA-sponsored exhibition at ArtsWestchester in Fall 2024.
